Nitrile
(BUNA-N): 30% or higher nitrile rubber content.
Viton:
Viton is also a very good choice if the system is subjected
to temperatures of 82°C (180°F) or higher. However,
the BUNA-N elastomer exhibits reduced compression set and
is less costly.
Polyurethane:
This material is compatible. However, this compound will
also harden when temperatures are above 71°C
(160°F).
Nylon:
Same as polyurethane.
Neoprene:
This elastomer is compatible for static
not dynamic conditions. However, the material will
work harden and crack prematurely when temperatures reach
77°C (170°F) or higher. Even when the temperatures
are moderate the material may work harden and crack without
any warning.
